10 Days of Tanzania’s Wilds and Zanzibar’s Shores
About Cruise Trips to Antarctica
Upon your arrival, at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative, who will accompany you to a hotel or lodge in Arusha. Afterwards, our safari manager will provide you with a briefing on your 10-day Tanzania travel adventure. Then allow you to relax and enjoy the pleasant weather of Arusha city and the amenities of the lodge.
After having breakfast at the lodge, head towards Tarangire National Park. The journey will take you through Arusha town and the stunning Masai steppe. Drop off your chef at Makuyuni Junction before entering the park for your game drive of the trip. Tarangire is situated along the Tarangire River. Is characterized by low-lying hills within the Great East African Rift Valley. The park's landscape is dominated by towering baobab trees, scattered Acacia woodland, and a vast swamp area in the south. During the season, both the Tarangire River and the swamp serve as sanctuaries for animals. This park boasts a population of elephants, some of which are among the largest herds in Africa. Rare species like the Fringed-eared Oryx and Great Kudu can also be spotted here. With over 400 bird species, including the Ash Stalling Tarangire, it is a paradise for birdwatchers. Wrap up your day of exploring Tanzania's wildlife with a drive to your lodge before sunset.
After enjoying your morning meal, head out towards Serengeti National Park, also known as "Wild Africa." Your journey will take you through villages. The picturesque highlands of Karatu until you reach the Ngorongoro gate. Once you complete the registrations and park procedures, ascend to the Ngorongoro highlands at 2,300 meters. Make sure to pause at the crater viewpoint to capture photos of the crater floor from above. As you drive along the crater rim and descend into the plains of Serengeti National Park,
Make a stop on your way to one of the Masai villages, where Masai warriors will warmly welcome you for an experience. Explore their homes, listen to stories about their lifestyle in this region, meet their family members and children, interact with them by asking questions, and capture memorable moments with them through photographs. You'll be treated to a farewell song accompanied by dancing. Feel free to join in! Afterwards, continue your journey to Naabi Hills Gate for check-in at Serengeti. Take some time for registration and other park formalities while enjoying your lunch. Then embark on afternoon game drives in Serengeti to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Arrive at your lodge before or during sunset for an end, to your day’s adventures.
We suggest embarking on a morning adventure starting at 6:30 am. Leave your accommodation after enjoying a cup of coffee and taking along your breakfast and lunch boxes. The early hours of the day offer a chance to witness the sunrise in Serengeti and spot families of wild cats moving about, as they tend to be active during this time, avoiding the morning mist.
You may also encounter predators returning from their hunt or observe lionesses strategizing for a morning hunt or having their meal by the roadside. If the wildebeest migration is happening in Serengeti, you will head directly to that area. Spend quality time observing them. Expect to witness wildlife interactions such as hunting, fighting, feeding, and more. Whether or not the Wildebeest Migration is occurring, Serengeti remains a destination worth exploring. Eventually return to your campsite, either during sunset or before it sets completely.
Today, embark on a safari and beach adventure that will lead you to the Ngorongoro Crater, known as one of the world's natural wonders. Depart from Serengeti after breakfast and enjoy a game drive passing by Naabi Hills Gate and the Malanja Depression before arriving at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the crater floor to witness an abundance of wildlife during game viewing.
The Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the Eden of Africa, was created millions of years ago by forces. Following an eruption, it formed a caldera mistakenly named a crater. The crater ecosystem is sustained by water from the Ngorongoro highlands and rich vegetation, providing habitat for wildlife such as herds, zebras, elephants, hippos, buffalo, topi, eland, and even the elusive black rhino.
This picturesque site boasts a concentration of predators, including hyenas, lions, cheetahs, jackals and the elusive leopard, that requires observation skills to spot. A variety of bird species can also be spotted here, ranging from birds to those found in forests. With some luck on your side during your game drives in this landscape known for its beauty and biodiversity, you may get a chance to witness Africa's Big Five animals.
In addition to its animal inhabitants, Ngorongoro Crater is also home to bird species both on land and in water.
You'll stop by the hippo pool and a spacious yet shallow alkaline lake located in the corner of the crater, often attracting groups of flamingos and hippos. Take a break, for lunch. Then head to the camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
