After receiving a briefing in the morning for your adventure, you'll embark on a two-hour drive to reach Tarangire National Park. The sight of baobab trees, the lush bush savannah, and the seasonal marshes will truly captivate you in this sanctuary. Known for its encounters, with elephants, Tarangire National Park is a spot for wildlife enthusiasts. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, often shadowed by predators like lions. While leopards make appearances, cheetah sightings are quite rare. From the position of the safari vehicle's roof, you'll have a panoramic view of the landscape and observe the diverse wildlife. As dusk approaches, you'll bid farewell to the park. Head towards your lodge for a stay.
After enjoying your morning meal, you'll embark on a journey from the Tarangire Area to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is renowned for its bird population of over 400 species, forests teeming with primates, and expansive grasslands. A significant portion of the park is dominated by the alkaline Lake Manyara, which serves as a breeding site, for flamingo colonies and various waterfowl species. Additionally, the park is inhabited by giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, and impalas, as well as lively troops of monkeys and baboons. Following a wildlife viewing experience, you'll head to a lodge where you'll spend the night.
After having your morning meal, you'll journey through the cooler highlands, heading towards the Serengeti. By midday, you'll arrive at the plains of Serengeti National Park. This park, known as Tanzania's largest, offers a variety of habitats and landscapes, including grass plains, savannah, dense bush, marshes, and lakes. The grassy landscape is scattered with rock formations known as kopjes, where predators are often spotted. The Serengeti is renowned for its migration spectacle, as hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras make their way in search of grass and water. Your overnight stay will be at a camp or lodge, within the park.
The entire day is spent observing wildlife in Serengeti National Park. The specific areas visited will be determined by the whereabouts of the migrating herds. Predators like lions, leopards (often seen in acacia trees), and cheetahs typically trail the moving animals closely. During the period in November and December, the herds shift from the northern hills to the southern plains. In the season from April to June, they head back up north. Since the migration is heavily influenced by rainfall patterns, the herd's location may vary each year. Your guide will be well informed on where to find them and how to observe them effectively. You will spend another night at the camp or lodge.
During your trip, to the park gate, you'll have the chance to see wildlife before exiting Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon. Upon reaching the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, you'll be greeted by a sight of the caldera below. After leaving Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you'll drive to Karatu in the highlands. Participate in a guided tour of a coffee plantation to discover more about coffee cultivation and processing. You'll then spend the night at either a campsite or lodge.
After having breakfast in the morning, you head back, to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Then descend into the crater. This large collapsed volcano is a habitat for over 25,000 mammals, including animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. You'll also encounter hyenas, rare wild dogs, and a variety of bird species totaling more than 500 in the region. Following an extensive wildlife safari and enjoying a picnic lunch, you'll depart from the crater in the afternoon. Return to your camp or lodge for another night’s stay.
After enjoying a relaxed morning meal, you'll journey back to Arusha, reaching your destination by midday. You'll be taken to either the city center or the airport.
